2008 Monthly Outreach Projects
Throughout 2008, our Witness Commission will identify one organization, family or project each month to support through various forms of contributions.
January Outreach Emphasis
In January, we are seeking to bless Morning Star Ministries, which provides support to unwed pregnant woment in our community. They have a constant need for women's toiletries, cleaning supplies and baby products. If you would like more information, please call our church office or go to http://www.morningstarmaternityhome.org/
February Outreach Emphasis
During February, we will be collecting non-perishable food items, paper products (most needed), and soaps (for bath and/or cleaning) to help replenish the Hatfield COB Food Pantry. The youth will also collect monetary donations for the Food Pantry next Sunday ("Soup"er Bowl Sunday) so Hatfield can purchase seldom donated necessities. Please support this neighborhood outreach program.
March Outreach Emphasis
During March, we will be encouraging participation in and financial support of the Mennonite Central Committee Meat Canning project. The portable canning trailer will be at Christopher Dock High School March 24-26. Canned meat is contributed toward hunger relief around the world. http://mcc.org/canning/
April Outreach Emphasis
During April, we are contributing funds to Brethren Housing Association in Harrisburg, PA, a ministry that provides transitional housing and support for homeless single mothers and their children. Our gift of $500 can provide for the educational and childcare costs for one woman for one year. For more information about this ministry, visit http://www.bha-pa.org/
May Outreach Emphasis
Our outreach ministry in May is COBYS Family Services, specializing in family counseling, foster care, and adoption services. Our support begins with the COBYS Family Fun Walk on the campus of Peter Becker Community on Sunday, May 4. Our youth have set a goal of raising $1,000 for this ministry.
